About this stay

Escape to a serene oasis steps from Harajuku's lively streets. Traditional beams, modern concrete floors and lush ivy that blends indoors and out — inspired by Zen gardens, Kyoto's Katsura Imperial Villa and the work of Mirei Shigemori. The house is a living thing, one with the plant that embraces it; some of it even grows inside. Two storeys: the upstairs bedroom has a double and a semi-double bed, and downstairs there is a semi-double sofa bed. Six can technically sleep here, but two to four is far more comfortable. This is an early-Showa house — the stairs are steeper than Western standards and we don't advise it for anyone with mobility issues. With no interior walls, the open space fills with natural light. Sip tea surrounded by ivy, or unwind after exploring the neighbourhood's boutiques, cafés and landmarks. Ideal for couples, artists and travellers seeking authenticity with a modern twist.
